Thank You to Iona!
On April 24th, staff from Isle of Harris Distillers Ltd. participated in this year’s Kiltwalk and walked 12 miles to raise funds for local charities. Between them they raised over £9,000, which is a magnificent sum of money and our thanks to them all and those who sponsored them. We are particularly grateful to Iona Cairns (Storyteller) who supported Western Isles Community Care Forum and also to the Hunter Foundation who match funded 50%, raising £525 for our cause. Iona is based on the mainland so undertook her walk there but thanks to the great technology we have nowadays, she was able to keep in contact with her Harris colleagues while she walked by Loch Eck, Argyll, and they walked from Niseabost to Tarbert.
The funds raised will help us to continue our work supporting unpaid carers and the voluntary care organisations. in the Western Isles.
